Divinity runs on contrast. The base is black crepe, matte and fluid, draped into a floor-length skirt with the front-pleated fall of a saree. Above it sits the reason for the name: a halter blouse hand-embroidered in sculptural gold-toned leafwork that reads less like embellishment and more like jewelry you wear as clothing. This is evening dressing in the indo-western register, built for cocktail receptions, black-tie wedding events, award nights, and New Year parties where black and gold is not a theme but a law of nature. The crepe skirt keeps the lower half disciplined and quiet, so the gilded bodice can hold the room without shouting. Styling is nearly done for you. Skip the necklace entirely, the blouse is the necklace, and finish with gold ear cuffs or slim drops and a low knot of hair. A red lip is optional and encouraged.
